Mountain View Cycles

Had a fantastic all day ride on the “Mt. Hood Epic” over the weekend. It was a 50 mile ride put on by the NW Trail Alliance. 55 people showed up for the epic. The weather was fantastic and with a lite dusting of rain earlier in the week, the trails were perfect!

The route started at Bennett Pass, up to Gun-sight, to High Prairie, down & around  8-mile, over to  Kenebal springs, down the entire Surveyors’ Ridge and finally winding thru the moto trails to the Saw Tooth roadhouse for an excellent post ride party and raffle.

Clint and I even saw a bear blasting down the trail around mile 45!

Membership to CAMBA is FREE. All we ask is that you volunteer for one to two trail maintenance days per year or offer the equivalent in time or effort. If you have not participated in a trail maintenance or clean-up effort, you’re missing out. it is tremendously rewarding.

Hood River County Forestry Department (HRC), Oregon Parks and Recreation
Department (OPRD) and the USDA Forest Service, Columbia River Gorge
National Scenic Area (USFS) are working collaboratively to plan the lower
Post Canyon trail area.

USFS, OPRD and HRC are working with the National
Park Service’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program (RTCA)
through a grant of technical assistance to develop the concept plan. RTCA
will facilitate the planning process and will work with the other land
managers over the course of approximately a year on developing a concept
plan for the lower Post Canyon trails which are primarily on OPRD and USFS
lands.

Until further notice the trail that runs just behind the Gun Club building will be closed. There is a bypass route that is marked with yellow signs.
