WHO WE ARE

Mountain View Cycles is a team of professionals dedicated to helping people experience the physical, mental, and cultural benefits of cycling. Whether you're a new rider getting your first bike, a seasoned vet prepping for your next stage race, or a local legend with a Strava reputation to defend, we're your pit crew and fan club, and we'll be here cheering you on and tuning your bike, day in and day out. With the fastest turn around times in the Gorge, Jedi-Master level product knowledge, and super stellar customer service, we strive everyday to keep people riding their bikes, because we believe that we are each our best selves when we are riding consistently.

Rafe

RAFE

OWNER/SPIRIT GUIDE

Rafe and his wife, Lydia, bought Mountain View Cycles in 2014 with the dream of supporting Hood River's amazing cycling community. Over the past several years, Rafe has become a pillar of the community, serving as an advisor on the 'Visit Hood River' board, advocating for the cycling community at every opportunity, and even spraying for poison oak in Post Canyon in his spare time. Through relentless dedication, he has turned Mountain View Cycles into the premier bike shop in the Pacific Northwest.

LYDIA

OWNER/CFO

If Rafe is Mountain View's spirit guide, Lydia is undoubtedly its more fiscally responsible parent. Blending her passion for cycling with an uncanny ability to keep the lights on, year after year, Lydia is the grease that keeps the wheels on our proverbial bus spinning round and round.

JEFF

GENERAL MANAGER

Jeff is Hood River's most trusted bike whisperer. He possesses unparalleled knowledge of the cycling industry, and is the social lubricant of the Mountain View community. When he's not in the shop he's usually either climbing a mountain somewhere in the Pacific Northwest or trail running with his chocolate lab, Rey.

BYRON

HEAD MECHANIC

If you've raced cyclocross anywhere in the lower 48, chances are you've raced against Mountain View's head mechanic: Byron Breeden. When he's not wrenching on our customers' bikes, or laying down the 'Kleeway on a cross bike' Strava KOM, you'll usually find him wherever his kids are.
